The Nebraska women's basketball team is on European Tour to Italy and Spain, through August 11th. Grace Mitchell, a Senior this year on the Lady Husker basketball squad, shared these pics with her father, Jud Mitchell, owner of Sumner Communications here in Wellington. Grace is also the daughter of Cathy Mitchell and is a 2016 WHS Graduate who has represented well during her collegiate career at the University of Nebraska. Grace has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards:

- Academic All-Big Ten (2018, 2019)
- Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll (Fall 2016, 2017, 2018; Spring 2017, 2018, 2019)

- Tom Osborne Citizenship Team (2017, 2018, 2019)
- No. 51 Wing in the Nation (ESPN, 2015)
The Huskers, who have been training and practicing for the past several weeks, leading up to the summer Eurpoean tour, departed for Rome on Aug. 1, and toured the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica before competing in their first game of the tour, last night, on Aug. 3. The Lady Huskers defeated the Italian National Team, Grace played for about half of the contest.
Earlier today, (Italy time) Sunday, Aug. 4, the Huskers had the opportunity to visit St. Peter's Square before touring the legendary Colosseum.
The team travels to Florence for its second competition of the tour on Aug. 5, before spending the next two days exploring the capital of Italy's Tuscany region.
Nebraska's tour of Europe shifts gears on Thursday, Aug. 8, when the Huskers fly to Barcelona. The Huskers will see the sites of the historic Spanish city before playing their final game of the tour on Friday, Aug. 9.
A mid-day Mediterranean cruise on Saturday, Aug. 10, will highlight Nebraska's final day in Europe, before the Huskers return to the United States on Sunday, Aug. 11.
